Leading With Service
HomeAid Houston is proud to welcome Dave Barnhart as its 2026 board president, bringing decades of homebuilding leadership and a strong commitment to service into the year ahead.
With more than 20 years of experience in the residential construction industry, Barnhart has helped guide First America Homes from a startup operation into one of the nation's largest privately held homebuilders. As division president for the past decade, he has played a key role in growing the company into a top 25 builder in the greater Houston area, supporting strategic expansion into the San Antonio/Austin region and positioning the company for continued growth.
A Mission of Service
"HomeAid's mission is deeply meaningful to me," said Dave Barnhart. "It's about helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness take real steps toward stability and a better future. I believe leadership is ultimately about service, showing up, supporting others, and doing the work together to make a lasting difference."
A graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.B.A. in Management, Barnhart is known for his disciplined leadership, strategic mindset, and dedication to building communities designed to endure — values that align closely with HomeAid Houston's work across the region.
Looking Ahead
"We're thrilled to welcome Dave into this role for 2026," said Carole Brady, executive director of HomeAid Houston. "He brings a strong track record of leadership in our industry and a genuine heart for serving others. I'm grateful for the continued dedication of our board, builders, and supporters, and I'm looking forward to a great year ahead as we work together to expand HomeAid's impact across our community."
With Barnhart's leadership and the continued dedication of HomeAid Houston's partners, the organization is poised for a strong year of building hope, strengthening communities, and changing lives.
About the Thanksgiving Basket Initiative
This announcement comes on the heels of HomeAid Houston and the GHBA Professional Women in Builders Council (PWB) assembling and distributing 250 Thanksgiving meal baskets on November 20, marking the seventh year of giving back. These efforts will translate into approximately 1,000 to 1,250 holiday meals to benefit Community Family Center of Houston (CFC) serving low-income families in Houston's East End.
